The biggest difference between the 2025 Altima and the 2024 is the SR VC-Turbo trim is no longer available. This trim in the 2024 lineup gets power from a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 236 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque, and it can also pump out 248 horsepower if you use high-octane gas.

The 2025 Altima removes this trim from the lineup. This means that all trims get power from the 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 188 horsepower.

A New Special Edition Package to Soften the Blow

While some drivers may be disappointed at the discontinuation of the SR VC-Turbo trim, they have a new Special edition to look forward to. The SV Special Edition Package adds some tweaks and upgrades to the SV, including a leather-wrapped steering wheel, black painted wheels, and other small styling upgrades.

The 2024 Altima doesn’t have the Special Edition Package for the SV, but it does have the Premium Package with heated front seats, wireless Apple CarPlay, and the ProPilot Assist system with adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist.

Every Altima has forward collision warning with automatic braking, lane-departure warning, driver attention warning, and blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert.
